Many times AA meetings are very helpful to people who are in the recovery process, but there are instances where there are better options. AA meetings are still very useful and somewhat vital tools to use alongside other methods of recovery. This is because while they may seem redundant and boring at times, they still provide a sense of stability and a constant for those who need it. However, if you have come to a point where you have been sober for quite some time, months without any alcohol, and you feel like you should be doing something more with your life, then perhaps another method may be of some use.
Instead of seeing yourself as someone who cannot function without the use of the substance that you have an addiction towards, start seeing yourself as someone who is making a positive and life changing decision.
