Can advice provoke our self-understanding and give us the power to heal ourselves? Well, the advice should come from an outside source. And even though our friends and parents often help us with advice and want only the best for us, there is still nobody that knows us better than we do ourselves. A non 12-step rehab program is not the same, because it does not offer an advice.

To be honest, usually it doesn’t matter who’s the one giving us advice, because it always annoys us anyway. We always seek control of our decision and prefer making a set of our unique beliefs and values. We always want to live our own lives as we picture them. It is our assumption that if someone needs to tell us what has to be done, then something must be wrong with us. If something is wrong with us, then obviously we have to fix it. Non 12-step rehab doesn’t go through that path because shame always feeds addiction.

It is too hard and too painful. I can’t take it anymore. I have to do something to get rid of the stress. Drugs, alcohol, eating, cutting, not eating, buying? Whatever helps us live another day and stay far from the advice. Why would we choose to recover through a scripted program with all the “right answers” waiting and ready for us? Isn’t it exactly the same thing?

Non 12-step rehab is personalized and it focuses on your natural talents, even though you ignore them yourself. It stands beside you and supports you in your search for the answers. It is not a magical approach that will fit everyone and helps to fight the destructive addiction and it doesn’t pretend to know what’s best for you.

So anyway, what is that non 12-step rehab approach?

• It assumes that your are gifted and brilliant
• It assumes that you tried to do what was possible in order to cope with the past and now you can start living the life you always wanted.
• The idea is supporting that life, the desire to feel really good, balanced and complete.
• It’s based on self-understanding. Non 12-step rehab sees you as a unique person with special strengths and struggles.

Nobody knows you better than yourself when you’re finally ready to understand yourself. By entering the non 12-step rehab program you enter a process that is completely customized and focused on recovery and self-understanding that vary greatly from one person to another.

Elizabeth and Aaron have joined the program of non 12-step rehab with a difference of several days. Both of them entered the non 12-step rehab with the same mix of substance abuse, an excessive buying and an eating disorder. They were surprised to find out that non 12-step rehab wasn’t an easy fixing approach. Throughout the non 12-step rehab sessions, Elizabeth and Aaron were respected and honored in the most effective ways they knew. Their personal non 12-step programs were somewhat different. When they compared the papers about their treatment goals they found numerous differences because they were different people after all! This motivating non 12-step rehab environment helped them reinstate their enthusiasm and self respect for their lives and taught them to listen to their individual core values. Non 12-step rehab helped them express their pains and fears, their joys and triumphs, and their goals without following a strict list of chronological steps.

Non 12-step rehab is about letting the people live the lives of integrity and true joy. The journey is towards the self discovery, rather than just a sobriety. It is about living a passionate and clear life.

I know that being abused as a child is one of reasons to my struggle with my addiction, because I have lived it. It is over now, though. Why should I talk about it now or look at it? What could a fancy drug rehab center do to help me?

To be honest, the emotional detachment that I had as a child left me with a feeling of emptiness inside me, a constant state of internal depression. I am aware of the fact that I used because I tried to fill this feeling of emptiness. Love? Perhaps security? How is a fancy drug rehab is going to make me whole again? And without having a distraction I just can’t fight the pain. Alcohol, drugs…. They all work but not for long. I need more distraction, a lot more. How is a fancy drug rehab program will get me what I need?

It is amazing what you have to overcome every day. You deserve to be in an environment that offers support, nurturing and a recovery that fits your personal needs, not a medical center or a 12-step program. The best luxury drug rehab can:

• be a place where you can feel accepted and safe and find the strength to confront your childhood traumas and pain.
• provide you with counseling in order to reveal your positive sides and the ability to live without abusing addictive substances.
• provide the best comforts and accommodations
• serve the best organic food
• give you extra strength and potency by providing you with natural healthcare, massage, activity and walks in the nature, followed by expert holistic therapists.
• give you the tools so you can become better anywhere without the help of others.
• replace the need for drugs with some own missions to get back into the big world.
Luxury drug rehabs are a whole new approach. They are all about healing the roots of the problem that cause the drug addiction in the first place. Isn’t it the right time now to become a whole and finally heal?

For many of the patients in the early recovery state, money is the utmost problem to handle. Their irresponsible spending of money in large or small sums has made them...

For many of the patients in the early recovery state, money is the utmost problem to handle. Their irresponsible spending of money in large or small sums has made them afraid of the financial area. Their motivation is usually to stop the treatment and start working as much as possible in order to recover their financial situation.

This is a caution for everyone who works with this kind of population. When attempting to overcome years of bad choices they will have to be taught to learn how to balance their time. The clock they hear won’t stop ticking whether they try to race it or not. Even though patience is not the strongest trait of these people, they will have to learn how to be patient in every aspect of their lives.

They believe that they can be in control of money; however, this belief isn’t any different from any other aspect they control. An addicted person usually uses this behavior in every area. Money is another example of situation where this addiction can kick in if not monitored carefully enough by the advisers of the newly recovering addicts.

It is very important for them to understand how the process and the time that brought them to the edge of living and to desire spending as much time and energy in order to recover from it as they spent getting in this dire situation. It is a hard task when they think that money is the key to recreate broken relationships, dreams and family problems that were created by them. The advisers must convince them that even all the money in the world can’t fix their lives immediately. It is a long healing process that takes time, consistency and a big effort.

See also: House of Recovery

Most legal entities and debtors will have no problem accepting small regular payments towards the diminishing of the debt. Even illegal entities such as gambling debtors and drug dealers are often reasonable when they receive the money that was owed to them. They usually follow the logic that they can return their money from someone who’s not spending any more money on the addiction, repaying them instead. If not, wise counsel will always win. Some of these stories are often heard at the recovery meetings. Every day financial disasters dissolve, families get back together, jobs are getting back in the routine. It takes them lots of creativity, time, willingness and cooperation to do what seems to be impossible at first. It is almost never possible, ethical or practical to give a recovering patient an advice to become a workaholic in order to recover their financial riches.

Additionally, a sudden financial freedom never helps a recovering patient to feel the sense of accomplishment that steady, gradual and patient payments can achieve. This process somehow keeps the ego chained while allowing the person to achieve the process gradually, rather than achieve it in a fast blow. The world of recovery is all about moving slowly to the target, rather than trying to get there as fast as possible. It is the same in every aspect of life; the process is often much more important than the actual result achieved by that process.

Meth Addiction Rehab

A drug addiction of any sort might have horrible side effects, although using methamphetamine can be particularly painful. Meth is considered a strong stimulant that can greatly affect the central nervous system. Right after using the drug, people usually feel a flow of energy, pleasure and increased alertness. Moreover, the euphoria that occurs because of a dopamine surge is the main reason to use the drug. However, after a repeated use the dopamine brain receptors eventually get destroyed, making it impossible for the user to feel any more pleasure, even without the drug. From that moment the sense of euphoria of the users changes to a combination of anxiety, paranoia and aggression. The most devastating results of meth injection are psychosis, delusion, hallucinations and even death.

Some people, especially women start taking the methamphetamines to suppress their appetite. Even though very thin people are valued in today’s social circles, chronic meth users are far from being attractive in any way. The effects of meth are blood vessel shrinking through the whole body and a damage to all internal organs, especially teeth and skin. Acne and sores aren’t a rare sight to be seen on a meth addict’s skin. Ulcers and abscesses can happen from a constant touching of the skin because of a sensation of bugs crawling under the skin. Even after few months of meth usage the addict’s teeth start rotting, breaking and falling out; this process is called “meth mouth”.

Getting Help from Meth Addiction Rehab

Methamphetamine is considered to be amongst the most addictive drugs and one of the toughest to recover from. It’s presence in the body is longer than of most drugs, so the recovery of heavy users can take a whole year or more.

However, help can be found in Meth addiction rehab centers. In order to help with detox, Medical professional often use other forms of amphetamine such as dextroamphetamine, same as methadone is used in the heroin addicts treatment. to find an drug treatment centers in Florida that specializes in meth detox. You better do it quickly, before meth completely destroys your life.

Have you ever stood in front of a situation with an ethical dilemma? You don’t have to be related to health services or health counseling in order to come across situations where ethical decisions had to be made by you.

The evolution of service industries has led nowadays to a change in some privacy issues of the patients around the globe. The professional relationships between companies and their clients have changed dramatically. Today ethical conduct in counsel work is not optional anymore. Now it is usually a requirement.

The counseling ethics in the relationship between the counsels and the clients are divided into two areas – the professional ethics and the confidentiality.

Confidentiality

In order to make counseling as effective as possible, it is important to give the clients a sense of complete security. They should know that what they say will never be shared with anyone. In theory, the perfect freedom would be a complete confidentiality that would allow the clients to discuss just about anything. However, in reality it is not always as perfect as that.

Usually the counselors should discuss the confidentiality degree with the client before establishing the counseling relationship. Usually this relationship consists of partial confidentiality. It means that the counselor may use some of the session details to improve the service quality, exchange the details with fellow counselors, or maintain a collection of notes for further theoretical use. Of course if there is an investigator with a court order that asks for the client’s details, the counselor must comply and provide him with the details. These situations can be very problematic. Sometimes they create a dilemma where a client may be dangerous and risk the lives of others, yet it is a private information that the counselor just can’t expose. Some counselors that work with prison occupants and potentially dangerous clients face these dilemmas on a regular basis. Visit House of Recovery for more reliable tips.

“When I was working in the HART company (Home Assessment Response Team), my job was to visit houses of people who have been a part of substance abuse. Some of these people were living in the Community Centers of Correction instead of drug rehab centers. I usually advised them not to tell me too much personal information, including names and dates, because I knew that the confidentiality wasn’t perfect in their case and if they would tell me information that could harm them, I would eventually be obligated to give that information to authorities in any case that would be required.”

Because of situations such as the one described here, some counselors think that promising to the client a complete confidentiality is unethical. Here are the most common reasons to why counselors can’t provide the clients with perfect confidentiality:

- Keeping records that hold personal information about the clients;
- Sharing information with the supervisors;
- Protecting third party people from danger;
- Court orders or law enforcement issues that make the counselors provide the information.

Professional Ethics

Because counseling is not a regular profession in many countries, the actual quality of the code of ethics is the one that makes the difference. The organizations that provide a more in-depth way of dealing with ethical questions are usually the ones that should be the most appropriate in their field.

The best option to undergo a detoxification process is of course in one of the nationwide drug rehab clinics. These programs can stop an addiction from any kinds of drugs,...

The best option to undergo a detoxification process is of course in one of the nationwide drug rehab clinics. These programs can stop an addiction from any kinds of drugs, as well as other substance abuse situations, such as alcohol addictions, tobacco addictions, prescription pills addictions and many more. However, before joining a rehab clinic, it is important to make a research in order to choose the best one.

Drug or Alcohol Treatment Programs

Even though most people wouldn’t really like staying in a drug rehab clinic, when it has to be done, then at least you should look for the one clinic that you will find the most attractive and the most adequate for you. Make sure to check out for the age requirements of the clinic. If you or your friends or family members are teenagers with an addiction problem, you will require a different rehab clinic than the adults need.

The process of recovery from substance addiction is a complex one, and it requires not only the rehabilitation stage, but also a detox stage, where all the addictive substances are removed from the patient’s body. This stage can be performed in a special facility within the rehab program, and if it not, you should make sure that the program offers a good external detox clinic that can help you with the withdrawal process.

You should also be aware of the price for the program you are going to join. Some of Florida drug rehab or alcohol rehab programs are cheaper, but offer a lesser variety of services to the patients, while the private clinics are somewhat more expensive, but offer many more additional services, group and individual therapies as well as a more personal and unique approach to every patient. Although, the actual chances to recover from the addiction are the same in any clinic. They are anyway much higher than the chances of recovering by yourself, without the help of medical professionals.

In order to start a rehab process, you should first admit that you indeed have an addiction from whatever substance you’re using. If you are unable to do so yourself, maybe your friends or family members will. After that you should do a research of available rehab clinics and then without hesitation join one of them. It might be hard at first, but you will be thankful to that decision later in your life, because it will change your life back to normal. Remember that only in a professional detox and rehab facilities you will get the best possible options to fight your addiction and clean your body from the harmful substances. It is never too late to join a rehab program, because anyone can get back to a steady, healthy life.

In the recent years the health insurance plans have become extremely expensive, especially for bigger families. With that said, small and medium size organization no longer provide their workers with any effective plans of health insurance. Today in most cases you should pay a substantial part of your health insurance yourself, and receive very little help from your employee, if at all. Many employees have even reduced the number of their full-time workers in order to save money on health insurance coverage.

If you are unlucky enough to work at one of those companies that don’t pay health insurance at all, then you have two options: buy an expensive health insurance all by yourself, or live with no health insurance at all. The middle income families get caught in an unpleasant situation. They earn more money than it is allowed in order to receive Medicaid help or apply to any other government programs for free insurance, and yet they don’t have enough money to spend on high health insurance without taking a big toll on their level of living. Even if the person can actually afford to pay for the health insurance, in some cases the insurance company can deny to cover his or her health expenses if he or she suffers from high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, heart disease or some other conditions. In several cases insurance companies have even denied to cover the costs of excess weight treatments and drug prescriptions. It looks like it is not in the best interest of major insurance companies to provide their clients with effective and cheap insurances, which leaves people often without any health insurance benefits.

Discount Health Programs

Luckily for some families, there are always discount health plans available. Those plans can effectively help them to save money on their health care. However, what are those discounted health care plans and how can they be achieved?
There are several types of discount health plans. The first one is perfect for people or families that need some dental health insurance or beauty related medicine insurance. The discounts provided in these programs apply to all dental services, as well as cosmetic dentistry and surgery, orthodontia, dental implants, Lasik eye surgery and even some instances of alternative medicine. These discount programs usually have no limits on their patients’ age, conditions or any other personal traits and they don’t make people wait for appliance.

There are also suitable discount plans for business companies, such as a high deductible health savings account or plan for hospitalization. There are several options in this plan that work simultaneously. It saves the companies some money both in the short run (by providing savings in routine health situations) and in the long run (by providing discounts for serious situations with prolonged periods of worker hospitalizations). With this kind of combination the businesses can be sure that they have all possible health issues covered and their employees can enjoy some very nice and cheap health benefits from their companies.

The discount dental plans look to be the most popular out of all the discount health programs. It is a statistically proven fact that most Americans don’t have a dental plan at all. The ones who do have such a plan, usually don’t use it for its maximum potential. Many of the regular dental plans are very ineffective, because they don’t provide a long-term treatment, have long waiting periods, and sometimes even don’t have the important procedures such as orthodontic treatments. Also, most of those plans don’t cover the cosmetic dentistry and implant procedures.

Additional details can be found at House of Recovery.

The discount dental plans are a perfect opportunity to save money over the dental care. They are much cheaper than the regular expensive dental insurance plans. You can save from 25% on specialist treatments and up to 80% for exams. The majority of dental procedures, including root canals, dentures, fillings, crowns and bridges, as well as orthodontic treatment come with a 50 to 60 percent discounts, saving the families half the money they used to spend on dental procedures. In many cases these discount plans offer additional services, such as discounts on eyeglasses and contact lenses, prescription cards, free visits for people with pre-existing illnesses, as well as other attractive discounts and services.

Some of the health programs also include a basic health plan that can save money on physician visits and medical examinations. The programs can provide significant discounts on such services as diabetic supplies, laboratory tests, mental health services, imaging studies and in some cases also wellness programs and 24/7 support nurse lines. In cases of the patient’s hospitalization, the program will assign a personal lawyer to negotiate a bill that will fit the patient’s ability to pay. One of the companies that is called AmeriPlan has even made an advocacy prescription program that assists the patient through different means of contacting pharmaceutical companies. Clients who spend more than ninety dollars on medical prescriptions and are in a specific income range can receive from the program all their regular medications for a cost of a minor monthly service fee to the company.

Some of those companies provide a combined discount for both medical and dental services that includes dental, vision, prescription, ancillary and other services, as well as lab test and physician visits discounts.

Here are some important facts you should know about addiction to pain killers:

Chronic pain is a problem of many people around the globe. It can be frustrating for many and not always easy to deal with. Some people find the solution in pain killing drugs, however, after feeling the relief caused by the pain killers, they are unable to stop using them and feel the pain once again. These situations lead to pain killers addiction that should be treated like any substance abuse addiction by detoxification treatment.

The addiction might start from a innocent and seemingly appropriate using of pain killers after a moderate injury, a car accident or a post surgery pain. Many people start using pain killers, even in relatively young ages. However, at some point the addictive components make the users crave for more pain killers both physically and mentally. In cases where they don’t have a chance to use the pain killers, they become obsessive with other activities in order to substitute the need for the medications. It is very important, though, not to stop using the pain killers instantly without medical help. Stopping a physical addiction to a substance might cause severe side effects in the body. For that reason it is strongly advised to find a detox treatment clinic in order to fight the addictive behavior in a place with professional doctors, observation and medication.

Opioids (pain killers) aren’t dangerous by themselves, however just as any drugs the addiction to them may become very destructive for the person using them. Same as with alcohol or drugs, pain killer suppress the body’s natural production of pain killers called “endorphins”. Without the natural pain killers the body becomes completely dependent on the drug or a pain killer, because the body cannot produce these medications by itself. A physical addiction turns into a mental addiction and before the person knows it, he can’t live without them. Yet, regular using of pain killers has many negative effects on the body, such as nausea, drowsiness, vomiting, low blood pressure, constipation, pupil contraction and more. All of these symptoms will intensify if the person doesn’t stop using the pain killers and might lead to a more complicated state of the body.

Visit House of Recovery for more information.

Some of the additional possible side effects of pain killers might include confusion, hallucinations, hives, delirium, itching, slow heart rate, hypothermia, rapid heart rate, muscle rigidity and more. As you can understand, the side effects possibilities are immense and a pain killer addiction should not be underestimated. However, addiction to pain killers can be treated. There are several treatment options for these kinds of addictions. In the detox centers a patient can become a part of specifically built recovery programs that will help the addict to withdraw all opioids from his/her body while paying attention to any possible withdrawal side effects and by treating them with the right medication.

The longer you postpone the addiction treatment, the more problematic will be the consequences. You should take action as fast as possible. It is better to lose a week of your normal life and do the rehab process now, rather than neglect the situation and suffer irreversible consequences to your health in the long term. Some health insurance companies cover drug/pain killer rehab programs costs, but if your doesn’t you can always find some free rehab clinics that will be happy to help you get back on track. You might be afraid at first to start the rehabilitation program, but after you do the first step, you will be thankful for that decision for the rest of your life that will be much healthier after you treat your pain killer addiction.

The modern pain killer treatments are a result of a tremendous experience and research in the field of rehabilitation from alcohol and many types of drugs, including heroin. By starting the treatment you can be sure that you will receive help from qualified medical personnel, effective medication that will minimize your suffering from pain killer withdrawal, and the best support you can get. Act now, while you still have the chance to change your life to the better.

A withdrawal from alcohol or drugs addiction can be a hard process and it has a big variability of side effects and possible outcomes. However, if performed in an effective detox clinic by professionals that know how to perform the detoxification process, the risks and the dangers for the patient can be minimized. The stage of detox is the first stage of many others in the process of complete recovery from addiction. The detox stage physically removes all the substances form the patient’s body, preparing him to the mental process of further rehabilitation.

Medication that helps make the detox and rehab stages faster

This kind of treatment is well designed by doctors to provide the best way to stop an addiction both physically and mentally. The withdrawal process uses medications, monitoring of the patient, as well as other methods of recovery. Accelerated withdrawal process programs are built in a way that allows a much faster, yet no less professional process recovery. Those programs go through all the needed stages with the care that is needed and their faster speed does not make them any less efficient in terms of quality or safety of the patient.

Medicated withdrawal is process that frees the patient’s body from the toxic substances fast, efficiently and with no harm. When the body instantly stops receiving its regular drug or alcohol dosage, it may react in many violent ways and have side effects that may be destructive towards the patient’s body. That is why clinical detox process is so good; it allows the doctors to monitor the changes in the patient’s body after the withdrawal of the substance and give him specific medications that prevent or soften his particular side effects, if any show up.

Often in detox clinics the patient receives a personal treatment that involves an assistance of personal nurses during the whole process of withdrawal. In such detox centers in Florida it is important for the personnel to pay attention to every possible sign of side effects that the patients might show and help them not only with the proper and most effective medications, but also with a personal approach and support through all the stages, until the patient undergoes a complete withdrawal of substances.

Of course in these kinds of treatments there is always a small chance for complications. That is why it is extremely important to make sure that the centers provide you, you friends or your family members that need drug or alcohol detoxification with the best trained medical assistants and the most effective and harmless medications.

Individual with drug addiction continue to use their substances in the face of a long duration of critical consequences in significant areas of their lives, including medical problems, legal problems,...

Individual with drug addiction continue to use their substances in the face of a long duration of critical consequences in significant areas of their lives, including medical problems, legal problems, relational problems, and employment problems. The drive to use often is stronger than one’s love for a significant other or a child; stronger than loyalty to an employer or a friend; and stronger than one’s values or even spiritual tenets. Persons with addictive disease continue to use long after any rational individual would choose to do so. This House of Recovery article provides a brief summary of one factor, among many, involved in the power of addictive disease: the role of fear of withdrawal.

Dealing with Addiction

Fear of Withdrawal is one of the fundamental forces at play in the power of addictive disease, be it alcoholism or drug addiction. Withdrawal in this context is defined to include the physical signs and symptoms of Withdrawal usually associated with abrupt cessation of use of a substance, after chronic use to the point of development of tolerance and tissue dependence. For example, here are some of the signs and symptoms associated with Withdrawal after physical dependence on alcohol: cravings for alcohol, tremors, sleeplessness, diarrhea, anxiety, sweating, loss of appetite, up to hallucinations and seizures in severe cases.

The Withdrawal referred to here also embraces the symptoms of a more subjective nature associated with psychological dependence upon a substance, with obsessive thoughts and preoccupation with the substance. Also included within the Withdrawal definition is the apprehension felt by the recovering person that he/she will now have to face all of the pain and vicissitudes of life without the drug used as a primary coping mechanism for years. The individual will be acutely aware of the fact that recovery will require facing the pain and consequences of active addiction (e.g., harm caused to loved ones), again without his/her drug. Often the pain, guilt, remorse, and self-hatred emotionally overwhelm the individual, triggering the coping response of the addict or alcoholic, namely, use of his/her drug of choice.

Withdrawal from physical dependence on opiate drugs such as Vicodin (hydrocodone) or OxyContin (oxycodone)is usually NOT a life threatening experience (absent medical complications), with symptoms similar to a bad case of the flu. Withdrawal from physical dependence on stimulants such as cocaine or methamphetamine, or Ritalin or Adderall, can be serious especially in the presence of medical complications, and the depression that can accompany cessation of use can be severe; a person with thoughts of self harm should seek immediate help from a mental health professional. Withdrawal from dependence on alcohol or sedatives such as the benzodiazepines (for example, Xanax, Ativan, Valium) can be life threatening and the person should seek help from qualified medical professionals.

Fear of Withdrawal as defined here is an imposing obstacle to the development of willingness on the part of an addict or alcoholic to choose abstinence and recovery. The cumulative effect of chronic pain and consequences, if properly presented to the addicted individual by a skilled mental health expert with well trained in addictions, with a healthy dose of hope for a way out of the chaos of addiction, can assist the individual to face these Withdrawal fears through a successful treatment.
